Battle Camp

UX / UI

What is Battle Camp?

Battle camp is a social monster catching game for iOS and Android. Players acquire and evolve monsters by participating in pvp battles.

The Problem

Navigation through social screens is time consuming.

Pain Points

Chat access is separate from the Tab Bar and the rest of the social options.

Keyboard obscures the chat window.

Social icon opens a second Tab Bar which obscures the primary Tab Bar.

The Goal

An easier social experience.

I was asked by Battle Camp creator WRKSHP to ideate a redesign concept for the navigation, focusing on a rework of the chat window.

The Solution

The new Social Tab.

Combining all social interaction options under the “Social” icon in the Tab Bar simplifies navigation.

The ‘Social’ Tab Bar can now be found atop the keyboard while utilizing the chat window.

The ‘Full Screen’ button has been replaced with a simple drawer that the user can drag to expand or collapse the chat window.
